Vision and Goals

Pinnacle African University  was founded  based on our convinction that mankind, especially in Africa and other underdeveloped   nations can  regain his  freedom from poverty, socio-economic  underdevelopment and impoverishment through education, as is the case of the rich and developed nations.

The importance of this has been well recognized by member countries   of the United Nations, hence   making   Education For All one of the cardinal points of the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs).  We ,  also believe that tertiary education for the majority, even in developing countries is a realistic possibility in no distant date.

Thus, our emphasis is mostly on tertiary education. Realizing also the fact that quite a good number of our working class individuals would still love to catch up on this missed opportunity, if given the chance, we   attach importance to the running of   sandwich and weekend courses to come to the aid of these mature students.

Porto-Novo, the location of Pinnacle African University, is the capital city of Benin Republic, a cosmopolitan country on the basis of her history and location. Estimates have it, that Cotonou, the commercial centre, just a few kilometers from Porto-Novo, boasts of about 1,6million English speaking Nigerians alone. This is beside citizens of other nationalities, not only in Cotonou, Porto-Novo and other cities in Benin.

A great majority of these would like their children to graduate   from an English speaking University, but cannot afford to send them back home, to ensure parental oversight function for security and economic reasons.

Experience has also shown that many of these parents, mostly traders, having now acquired some economic empowerment, would now themselves love to make up for the missed opportunity of having tertiary education.

They are therefore only very willing to undergo their courses on weekends or evenings, while continuing with their trade or other jobs. The proximity of Porto-Novo to Nigeria, the increased free movement of ECOWAS citizens and labour force, further add to the  guarrantee, that  there is a large market for this project.

This is in addition to the fact that many French speaking individuals will be happy at an opportunity of having their tertiary   education in an English speaking environment.

Our objectives are :

-To produce educationally and morally sound and a pride to their families and countries

-To produce students, who   will, through entrepreneurship   development, be employers rather than employees at the end of their studies.

-To   help in the reduction of educational gap between the rich and poor individuals and nations.

-To give mature individuals the opportunity  to make up for missed opportunities   and now   achieve their goals of having tertiary education.

-To contribute to achievement of the   MDGs of the United Nations of Education for all.

-To contribute to integration of ECOWAS and African

Union Nation

-To extend social services to the community and hence contribute to their socio-economic development
